Thanksgiving 2008 football games

The Tennessee Titans , at , look to avenge their first loss of the season to a surging New York Jets team. Lucky for the Titans, they get a Detroit Lions team that is still looking to get their first win of the season with an record. The Lions have competed hard lately, and Thanksgiving is their national time in the spotlight. The Thanksgiving game, which first started in , is a big deal to the Lions and their fans.

The Lions will fight hard early and make it interesting. However, the Titans should take care of business and dominate the Lions 28th ranked offense. I look for a at least a two-score win by the Titans. Not what I call a good start to the Thanksgiving meal.

The main course, which will be the afternoon game, will feature another lop-sided contest when the Dallas Cowboys take on the Seattle Seahawks. With Tony Romo back in the lineup, the Cowboys should take this one without much fight. Add that onto the home crowd standing behind the Cowboys, and my stomach as an NFL fan is still growling with another blowout game.

Am I dreaming this stuff? It's great to hear from you after all these years. God bless! Hi, Velvet Yes, those were special days. We'd bundle up, take a thermos of hot chocolate, and make the trek down to Atwood, watch the game, and then head back home for turkey and the Lions game.

It would be about halftime before you'd start feeling you toes again. Man, that concrete was cold! But, worth it? You bet! Thanksgiving was always such a special day. We went to every game from when I can remember. These mud bowls were pretty wild. I was fortunate to play in '73 and ' Here's a link to a page I put together for the '74 game. The proceeds go to help renovate Atwood stadium. Which from the pictures you can find with Google, looks like it's coming along nice enough.

It was muddy in then '64 game. I lost my shoe in it and kept on marching. Got my picture in the paper. Northern won The team wore shirts that said "Beat Central" and we did. There quarterback for Central I think broke his leg. My future husband was playing for Central and I still rib him about that game. Thanks for commenting. Filmmaker Michael Moore described Teardown as "a brilliant chronicle of the Mad Maxization of a once-great American city. The endzone at Atwood. Two minutes after a completing a fourth-quarter, yard pass play that put the Vikings in scoring position, All-State co-captain William Wallace heads toward the end-zone to seal the victory.
